Benton Donahue
Benton Donahue is an undergraduate assistant for LMR and works in the Music Department office as the Communications Assistant. He is pursuing his bachelor's degree in Vocal Music Education. Benton was born and raised in Madison, MS where he led a musical-centered life both on stage and within the community. Since moving to Oxford, he has become the rehearsal pianist for the Ole Miss Men's Glee, serves as a scholarship singer at Oxford-University United Methodist Church, a member of Concert Singers, secured his American Guild of Organists membership, is the Treasurer for the Ole Miss chapter of the ACDA, and is working with Dr. Jos Milton for voice lessons. He is also the recipient of the Mary Donnelly Haskell music scholarship through the Ole Miss Women's Council.
Benton is a regular collaborative pianist and conductor for choirs at State Performance Assessment and choral concerts. He works closely with the Center Players Community Theatre as music director and rehearsal pianist for their productions. He attended First Baptist Church in Madison and was very active with their Worship Ministry Team, under the direction of Ross Johnson. Benton graduated from Madison Central High School where he was heavily involved in the Music and Theatre departments. He has been playing the piano for seven years with lessons from Jan Bruening, Mary Leigh Ochoa, and Dr. Ian Hominick.
